About Us
We are here not for income, but for outcome
In 1998, a journey began—a journey of compassion, education, and social welfare initiated by the eminent Padma Bhushan Dr. Shyama Chona and Ms. Barkha Singh. They founded the Anubhav Educational and Social Welfare Society, emerging as a guiding light dedicated to making a difference in the lives of those less fortunate.
One remarkable chapter of this journey unfolded when Delhi Public School, RK Puram, opened its doors to children from slum clusters in the evening session. These young minds, previously confined to the shadows of neglect, found a gleaming opportunity for education thanks to the visionaries behind the Anubhav Educational and Social Welfare Society. The generosity extended beyond the classroom when Subros Chairman Ramesh Suri generously provided a bus to DPS RK Puram. This gesture not only facilitated transportation but also symbolized a collective commitment to uplift the community. Students from approximately 22 slum clusters around RK Puram benefited from the society’s dedication, receiving free books, tuition, and uniforms. The goal was clear—to provide them with a platform equal to any paying child, fostering equality and inclusivity.
The Anubhav Educational and Social Welfare Society showcased the potential of these young talents in the early days through a play titled “Aakhir Kyu,” conceived by Ms. Shyama Chona. The performance resonated so deeply that it reached the residence of then-Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, marking a moment of pride for all associated with this noble cause.
The society’s dedication extended to the national stage, commemorating Prime Minister Modi’s birthday with initiatives like creating awareness against single-use plastic through street plays and advocating for women’s rights, evident in a letter penned to review Muslim law on triple talaq. In the pursuit of civic responsibilities, Anubhav Sanstha, in collaboration with the Ram Rajya program, unveiled Barkha Singh’s soulful bhajan, inspiring a sense of duty towards society.
Promoting women’s empowerment has always been an integral part of the society and remains at the forefront—be it through breast cancer detection camps, camps aiding young girls to find financial independence, or providing free vaccination services. The Anubhav Sanstha believes that supporting programs, resources, education, and skills training are basic initiatives that enable girls to break barriers, pursue their aspirations, and contribute meaningfully to society.
In the evolution of this inspiring journey, we witness the torchbearers of Anubhav Foundation passing on the legacy of compassion and dedication. Today, I am delighted to highlight that Rukmani Singh, the current secretary of Anubhav Foundation, is steering this noble ship towards new horizons.
Rukmani Singh’s unwavering commitment places Indian ethos, culture, social work, and education at the forefront of Anubhav’s endeavors. Under her leadership, the foundation continues to illuminate the path of inclusivity and equality, expanding the impact on the lives of the less fortunate.
As we reflect on these milestones, let us applaud the relentless efforts of the Anubhav Educational and Social Welfare Society, for they have not only transformed lives but also sown the seeds of a more compassionate and equitable society.
Thank you.
